Two QCAM Members Honoured at the 2026 Prix du Québec!

The QCAM is proud to celebrate the achievements of two of its members, Nathalie Tufenkji and Mathieu Lapointe, who are among the recipients of the 2026 Prix du Québec, the highest distinctions awarded by the Government of Québec in the fields of culture and science.

A professor at McGill University, Nathalie Tufenkji is the recipient of the Prix Marie-Victorin, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the natural sciences and engineering. Her research in environmental engineering focuses on areas such as plastic pollution, environmental nanotechnology, and the development of antimicrobial materials, with significant implications for environmental protection and public health.

Mathieu Lapointe, a professor at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), is the recipient of the Prix Hubert-Reeves, which recognizes excellence among emerging researchers. His innovative research in water treatment and protection contributes to the development of solutions for removing emerging contaminants, including PFAS and microplastics, and improving the quality of water resources.

These distinctions highlight the quality, impact, and relevance of our members’ research, as well as their contributions to advancing Québec’s scientific reputation.

Congratulations to Nathalie and Mathieu on these well-deserved honours!
