IRSST congratulates its awardees

QCAM expertise will once again contribute to Covid-19 research. Indeed, two QCAM members received a positive response to a call for proposals issued by the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST).

The IRSST awards a 120000$ research grant to the project “Preparation and evaluation of the biological activity of antimicrobial agents based on copper and silver oxides used in personal protective equipment against COVID-19″, led by our member Phuong Nguyen-Tri, professor at UQTR. He will work in collaboration with these industrial partners: Tekna Inc. (Sherbrooke) et NanoBrand Inc. (Laval).

In addition, Professor Marc-André Fortin (U. Laval) was funded $60,000 for the project entitled “A high-sensitivity test bench to measure the spread of viruses through materials used in personal protective equipment (gloves)“.
